The Buddha did not stop at identifying the problem. He then looked at the root cause of the problem. If you think of it, suffering comes because we want more of the same. We want good health, good friends, lavish life styles, grand outfits, cars, houses,...........endless items. We don't want to lose those who are dear to us, and we don't want to die.

The Buddha saw this desire as the cause of all suffering.
He who understands this has the right view.

Well, the Buddha then proceeded to see whether there is a way out of this problem, and he realized that there is indeed a way out.
He who understands that there is a way out from suffering has the right view.

The Buddha then understood the method, procedure or the process that leads to the cessation of desire. This method as the Buddha presented it is the crux of Buddhism. This is called the

"Middle path" ( Maddyama Prathipada ).
