Venerable Brahmanagama Muditha Thero

Ven. Yatinuwara Sankichcha

Born in Kandy, Sri Lanka in 1976, Venerable Sankichcha received novice ordination at the age of 15 in 1991. Not long after his higher ordination, in 1996, he moved to Australia where he lived for four years. Ven. Sankichcha moved to Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara in December of 2001.


Ven. Wetara Mahinda


Ven. Wetara Mahinda

Ven. Wetara Mahinda was ordained as a pupil of Most Venerable Induruwe Uttarananda Maha Thero (The Chief Prelate of Sri Lanka Ramanna Sect from 1976 to 1986) and received his Higher Ordination in1972. He is an academic and a senior lecturer attached to the Department of Archaeology, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and has been serving the Department from 1984, out of which over five years as Head. He has obtained first degrees in Buddhism (Buddha Sravaka Bhikshu University, Anuradhapura) and Archaeology (University of Peradeniya,) both in Sri Lanka. He has earned an MA in Archaeology (Peradeniya) and a post-graduate diploma in Buddhist Studies (Dharmacakra Vidyapitha, Peradeniya). He has publications in the field of Buddhist psychotherapy, Buddhist monastic medicine and archaeology. He is one of the resident monks of Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara and currently he is attending a retreat at the "Pittsburgh Buddhist Center" as a visiting monk.


Rev P. Maithree

Rev P. Maithree

Born in Elpitiya, Galle District, SriLanka in April 17, 1966. He renounced his lay name ‘Jayanetti arachchi Sudath Ananda’ at his robing/ordination in Decem 03rd 1981, and Rev P. Maithree received his higher ordination in June 23rd 1989. Because of his excellent achievements at monastic, graduate and post graduate levels, he has won a high recognition in spiritual, communal and academic fields. He has extended his service especially as a Buddhist psychological counselor in several countries. At the invitation of the abbot of GLBV, Rev Maithree renders his invaluable service to the Great Lake Buddhst Vihara and its people from May 08 2008.  
Currently, with the permission of GLBV, he is on mission out of state.



Rev.  Indarathana

Rev.  Indarathana  Deliwa was born in 01 January 1980 at Monaragala, Sri Lanka.  He received his novice ordination at the age of 14 in 1994.  After having completed his monastic education diligently, he got his higher ordination in 2008.Rev. Indarathana graduated with a bachelor degree in education, in University of  Colombo in 2005. Because of his excellent abilities in performing religious activities, he has been serving as a well trained Buddhist clergy at Great Lakes Buddhist Vihara since November 2006 to date.
Currently, with the permission of GLBV, he is on mission out of state.

rev. jinanada

Rev. Jinananda Nugegalayaye

Rev.N.Jinananda was born in April 12,1980 at Katuwana, Hambantota . He was ordained as a novice monk in November 25th,1993 and received his higher ordination in April 30th,2000. He graduated with a Bachelor of Education  degree from University of Colombo in 2006.  Rev.N.Jinananda completed a postgraduate Diploma in Buddhist studies at University of Kelaniya in 2007. Rev.N.Jinananda renders his religious service to GLBV from February 13, 2008 to date.
